Clear signs to identify fake emails before it's too late
Phishing is the most common cyberattack method. Learn to detect it to protect yourself.
Don't trust the displayed name: - Click on the sender's name - Look at the complete email address - Is it from the official domain? (bank.com vs bank-security.com) - Be suspicious of strange domains
Scammers create pressure: - "Your account will be blocked" - "Action required immediately" - "Last chance" - "Verify within 24 hours"
Before clicking: - Hover over the link (without clicking) - Look at the real URL that appears below - Does it go to the official site? - Be suspicious of URL shorteners
Official emails are well written: - Spelling mistakes - Strange grammar - Obvious automatic translations - Mixed languages
Never by email: - Passwords - Complete card numbers - PIN or security codes - Banking details
Be very careful with: - Invoices you weren't expecting - .zip or .exe files - Files from unknown senders - PDFs of "fines" or "debts"
